My favourite gifts to buy at Christmas are stocking fillers. I’ve always been more of a lots-of-cheaper-stuff kind of girl and less about big-expensive-investments when it comes to me being on the receiving end, so I guess I’ve just carried that mentality in to how I shop. The intrigue surrounding what could possibly be small and narrow enough to be stuff in to a massive sock always feels stronger than the suspense around bigger gifts. The stockings feel personal, more traditional, more cosy. Although granted, as adults I’ve snuck make up and vouchers in there to bulk ‘em up a bit.
Stocking fillers in our house comprise of ‘basics’ - each child gets a new toothbrush, a chocolate or sweet they really enjoy, a bath bomb, a book (if we can find something small enough) and something practical. Then the hunt’s on for little gems of excitement. We try to personalise as much as possible but half the time, what the kids opt to play for quicker than anything else are items I may have even considered negligible.
When it comes to the fillers, I tend to pay a visit to Flying Tiger, Etsy, Home Bargains or Amazon. Then it’s time for the extras! Here’s a bunch of suggestions which might spark a few ideas of your own (or that you can just outright steal tbh) I’ve linked them all for ease should you wish to take a better look.
While not knowing the exact dimensions of each and every one of your stockings, I’ve allowed from the tiny to the slightly chunkier, then hopefully all bases are covered! Happy planning!
